Position Summary:

We are seeking a Technology Coordinator who is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology systems and infrastructure. This role involves supporting both the instructional and administrative use of technology, ensuring that the school's technological resources effectively support educational goals. The Technology Coordinator will work closely with faculty, staff, and students in a school environment to integrate technology into the classroom, manage technology-related projects, and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school leadership to assess technology needs, prioritize initiatives, and develop a comprehensive technology plan aligned with strategic goals. Manage the technology budget, coordinate with vendors for equipment forecasting, and oversee purchase order submissions to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance, and inventory of all school technology devices and ensure the smooth operation of network infrastructure in collaboration with third-party vendors. Oversee software updates, mobile device management, and account systems (Google, Microsoft Exchange) to maintain functionality and security across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with staff to integrate technology into the curriculum, promoting innovative use of digital tools to enhance teaching and learning. Provide timely technical support to staff, students, and parents, manage and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and oversee system integration to improve communication and data access within the school.
  • Maintain the organization’s website, ensuring it is up-to-date, compliant with all relevant laws, and that all necessary licenses are maintained.
  • Manage and maintain records, inventory, and upkeep of all technology assets, including computers and devices used by both staff and students.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies concerning data privacy and security. Ensure network security and data integrity by implementing and monitoring appropriate protocols and firewalls, in partnership with third-party vendors.
  • Maintain and update campus marquees, monitors, and door lock systems according to schedule, ensuring accurate information display and smooth system operation year-round.
  • Act as the primary liaison with technology vendors, coordinating all activities to ensure timely delivery, installation, and resolution of technology products and services.
  • Maintain current expertise in the school’s data management systems, including student information systems (SIS) and learning management systems (LMS), to support effective implementation and user training.
  • Manage audio and video technology for designated meetings and events, ensuring all equipment is prepared, tested, and functioning properly. Coordinate with caption vendors for accessibility services, maintain virtual meeting platforms, and provide video editing and transcription support as needed.
  • Assist with drop-off and pick-up process to ensure the safety, efficiency and smooth transition of students, while enforcing school policies and communicating effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, educational technology, computer science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven 3-5 years’ experience in technology management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, hardware and software management, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience with educational technology tools and platforms, including learning management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and other workers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, write, type and/or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work early in the mornings, late evenings, weekends, emergency situations, and travel off-site which may require driving a personal vehicle.
