Job Title:        Speech Language Pathology Fellow  

Position Status:        Exempt 

Reports To:         Speech Language Pathologist Department Chair   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Independently administer and score assessments, write thorough evaluation and progress reports, as well as plan, conduct, and document therapy sessions  

  • Provide assessment and diagnosis of speech and language levels. 

  • Provide individual and/or group therapy. 

  • Serve as a resource to and collaborate with teachers and other school staff members. 

  • Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families. 

  • Participate in staffing meetings and Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD)/Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings. 

  • Maintain thorough ongoing records for students. 

  • Be willing to travel for consultations, conferences, and presentations. 

  • Interest in gaining specialized training in working with children with hearing loss in an auditory oral setting.  

  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.  

  • Take pleasure in working with early childhood and school-aged children. 

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of this role. The ideal candidate will be reliable and adhere to scheduled work hours.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None      

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability that are required of an SLP. 

Education and/or Experience: Candidate must either have a Master’s Degree OR be a LSLS Cert. AVT or Cert. AV Ed. Speech and Language Pathologist.  

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:  Maintain state and ASHA licensure requirements, Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS Cert. AVT or AV Ed.) certification is preferred. If not currently certified, certification must be obtained within 5 years of hire date. 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear and have good vision. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 0-30 lbs.
