We believe that children who are deaf or hard of hearing can learn to listen and talk if early identification, appropriate amplifications, and intervention take place.
Sunshine Cottage proudly serves children Pre-School through Fourth Grade who are deaf or hard of hearing as well as those with typical hearing.
A Place to be Heard, Understood, and Celebrated
Using cutting-edge hearing technology, our students develop listening and spoken language skills, enabling them to communicate naturally and effectively without the need for sign language.
Parents work hand-in-hand with teachers, gaining strategies to support listening and language development at home.
Children receive speech therapy, audiological management and other supportive services while enrolled in our school.
Here, every child can grow, learn, and thrive.
Our school offers children who are deaf or hard of hearing the educational foundation and hearing technology needed to become active participants in a sound filled world.
Small Class Sizes
Our Early Elementary classrooms maintain a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio. In Elementary, the ratio is 13:1, providing extensive personalized instruction. Tutoring and small group instruction is also available.
Academic Excellence
A certified teacher with a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education leads each classroom with an academic program that exceeds Texas Education Agency standards. Students engage in field trips and experiential activities that bring learning to life.
