Sunshine Cottage proudly serves children Pre-School through Fourth Grade who are deaf or hard of hearing as well as those with typical hearing.
A Place to be Heard, Understood, and Celebrated
Using cutting-edge hearing technology, our students develop listening and spoken language skills, enabling them to communicate naturally and effectively without the need for sign language.
Parents work hand-in-hand with teachers, gaining strategies to support listening and language development at home.
Children receive speech therapy, audiological management and other supportive services while enrolled in our school.

Small Class Sizes
Our Early Elementary classrooms maintain a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio. In Elementary, the ratio is 13:1, providing extensive personalized instruction. Tutoring and small group instruction is also available.
Academic Excellence
A certified teacher with a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education leads each classroom with an academic program that exceeds Texas Education Agency standards. Students engage in field trips and experiential activities that bring learning to life.

Our audiologists ensure that every student has consistent and optimal access to sound and hearing technology.
Parent-Infant Program
This free program for families of children 0-3 years old utilizes parent-driven, child-centered interventions to equip families to nurture their child’s listening and language skills.

Our Speech-Language Pathology team provides screening, assessments and on-going support for all students.
