Genny, her nickname, lived in Texas as a child. Her father, who was in the Army, was stationed at Ft. Hood. She moved back to St. Louis during her high school years. After being hired at Sunshine Cottage, Genny returned to Texas and to the beautiful city of San Antonio. Genny always wanted to become a teacher. When her youngest brother was born with a profound hearing loss and received a cochlear implant, she felt a calling to teach children with hearing impairments. Teaching children with hearing impairments has become a family affair. Her mother teaches at The Moog Oral School in St. Louis and her sister works with HI students in Dallas ISD.
Genny loves reading and passes the love of reading to her students. She also has 2 spoiled dogs named, Addie and Charlie, who she enjoys taking for walks.
